Ang Ruiz (aka notdeadart) is an interdisciplinary artist born in Piedras Negras, COAH, based in both San Antonio and Austin, TX. She received her BFA in Studio Art and certificate in Digital Art and Media from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. Ruiz works primarily in printmaking, bookmaking, and digital media. Her work explores girl/womanhood, as well as the threshold that exists between beauty and the grotesque, evoking desire within disgust. They often use glitter as a device of corruption. Ruiz has exhibited work at ICOSA Collective, the Museum of Human Achievement (MoHA), and at UT Austin.
